Research has shown that adults like to follow patterns that resemble the structure of their native language. The explanations given in this section of the program are easy to understand and provide many examples, which will ensure students’ comprehension. Our hope is that students will acquire a good understanding of grammar structure and that students can apply this to real life language. It is really important that students read the explanations and examples in this section thoroughly.
The Picture Dictionary is composed of commonly used vocabulary words illustrated with pictures and accompanied by their pronunciation. The Picture Dictionary is divided into forty-seven themes, which have been carefully selected. These themes range from banking and money to transportation and nature. By providing both images and sounds we hope to facilitate our student's vocabulary learning process.
The pronunciation section of HL is divided into several units ranging from the basic sounds of the alphabet to more complex sounds that are unique to the English language. his section also includes pronunciation of different types of verbs as well as phrases and expres3sions. Students have the opportunity to master their English pronunciation skills by listening to and repeating the material provided as many times as deemed necessary.
The reading section of HL has been designed to enhance the reading and listening skills of our students. This section has been divided into three levels: beginner, intermediate and upper-intermediate. Each level is composed of 20 readings that have been carefully selected so that students can become familiar with many common topics, phrases, expressions, and general vocabulary used in The United States. We hope that as students advance through the different reading levels; they will enrich their English language skills.
